How To Play Craps And Not Be Shit
Whether you are a seasoned campaigner who is more than familiar with this incredibly popular casino game or you are still wondering why they would name something played regularlary after fecal matter – there’s a good chance you’ll find some hint, tip, or slightly amusing anecdote that will give you the boost you need to turn your gaming style from Wallet Looter to Hot Shooter – because when it comes to the game of craps there is nothing sexier than a hot shooter.
Craps is a game in which everybody (except the house) can win together, and when everybody’s winning, a craps table can get pretty wild. Craps also has some of the best odds in the casino and is quite often listed as #1 on people’s list of Casino Games With the Best Odds, so there’s a lot of winning to be done…. once you make sense of the chaos in front of you.
A craps table can look pretty intimidating. It’s a big table with a bunch of numbers and unfamiliar phrases, and there can be more than 20 players and 4 staff at the table at any given time.
In reality, though, craps is a pretty simple game.
How To Play Craps – The Beginners Guide
Craps is one of the best odds in the casino and provides Casino Games with the Best Odds nearly every time! In fact for those looking to find out which casino game has the best odds you have found your answer. It’s craps. The game I mean, not the answer.
Now I could go on and on about all the strategies and the importance of familiarising yourself with the layout and rules, but nothing does that better than a video, and so i have provided a link to one of the better straight forward guides on YouTube – please watch and enjoy and join us again afterwards as we continue to explore how to play craps and how to beat the game that has the best casino odds
First things first you are going to need to familiarise yourself with that confusing table – which is actually not confusing at all. We originally included an image here but the video above provides an excellent still shot of the table as well as providing clear and concise information about it within the content itself.
Playing Craps – What You Need to Know
Players wager on the outcome of the roll of a pair of dice thrown on the Craps table. One of the players rolls the dice and is called the shooter. Multiple players line up around the table and make their bets on the outcome of the shooter’s dice rolls.
The first roll is called the “come-out.” You can bet on the “come-out” by placing your chips on the “PASS” or “DON’T PASS” bar. A winning “come-out” roll equals a total of 7 or 11. If you betted on the PASS line, and the outcome is 7 or 11, you win. If the shooter gets a 2, 3 or 12, this is “craps,” and the PASS line bettors lose.
If you are betting on the DON’T PASS line, you will win if the shooter throws a 2 or a 3, while 7 or 11 means you lose since the PASS line bettors just won. If the shooter rolls 12, neither the PASS nor the DON’T PASS line bettors win.
So, what are the outcomes remaining? 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10. If the shooter rolls any of these, that number becomes the “point,” and the dealer marks this number on the table with a puck. On the shooter’s next roll, if he or she rolls the “point,” that’s a “pass,” and the PASS line bets win. The DON’T PASS bets lose, and the game is over. If the shooter rolls a 7 before rolling the “point,” DON’T PASS bets win. DON’T PASS bettors are allowed to remove their bets at any time. All wins pay even money.
The “Odds” is a side bet in Craps you can make after a point is thrown. It pays if the “point” is thrown before 7. Depending on the bet, and the rules at a casino, Craps offers 3, 4 and 5 times the odds offered. Four and 10 mean a 3X flat bet. Five and 9 mean a 4X flat bet. A 6 and 8 offers a 5X flat bet.
How To Avoid Bad Advice When Playing Craps
As a general rule I tend to not take any advice from anyone else at the table. Granted in craps the game is designed in such a way that it is the house vs. everyone else, you still want to keep your strategy to yourself and avoid tips from other players at the table.
If she whispers through her eyeball you know something is up. Her advice is probably Crap…. but it’s not the Craps advice you were hoping for.
How to Play Craps and Win Everytime!
If Craps rules seem complicated, start one step at a time. The PASS bet is the most fundamental that almost all players make, and it is easy to understand. Start with a PASS or DON’T PASS bet, and with more experience, engage in more bets. The optimal strategy in Craps is to bet on the DON’T PASS line and back it up by laying the odds. This is contrary to how most players bet in Craps, but it gives you the most edge in the long run. If you want to go with the crowd, even with a PASS strategy, you have a great chance of winning.
The Basic Craps Playing Guide to your left provides a good resource and reference point for new players so they (you) can focus on the actual gameplay and nuances of such and not get bogged down with the details – of which craps is not light on as I am sure you have noticed.
